Solar powered radio station

Been doing also some tests with a VHF base station for emergency communications, running on solar power in the Philippines, during rainy season.

This is the setup:

Motorola GP360 VHF
100Ah battery
solar charge regulator/controller 10A
2 solar panels (75W each, connected in parallel)

On extremely cloudy and rainy days the solar still produces an average of 250mA, enough to power the radio on stand by. (220mA)
Transmitting drains 4,2A (FM 25W PEP)
On sunny days, the solar controller usually indicates full battery in the afternoon.
